Why BetsUganda exists
BetsUganda launched in 2026 with one job: give Ugandan punters accurate, local betting information instead of content copied from across East Africa.
Most betting guides aimed at Uganda repeat regional defaults and get the basics wrong. The clearest example is the betting age: many sites list it as 18, when the Lotteries and Gaming Act, 2016 sets the minimum age in Uganda at 25. BetsUganda is built to get those details right.
BetsUganda is not a betting company and does not accept bets. BetsUganda is an independent guide that explains the law, mobile money and football betting, then points punters toward operators licensed by the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB).
Deposits and withdrawals in Uganda run on mobile money. BetsUganda focuses on MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) and Airtel Money — the two rails that move almost every Shilling in and out of a betting account.

Every legal fact on BetsUganda is verified against the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) and the Lotteries and Gaming Act, 2016 — including the 25+ age limit and the 15% tax on winnings that most guides get wrong.

BetsUganda is optimised for 3G and entry-level phones such as Tecno, Infinix and itel. Mobile money over USSD, no heavy ads — just fast answers on a weak Kampala signal.
Licensed operators only
BetsUganda only explains and recommends bookmakers licensed by the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB). An unlicensed site offers no protection if a payout goes wrong.

Facts before publishing
BetsUganda verifies licensing, the 25+ age limit, the 15% withholding tax and KYC rules against the regulator and the law. A page is updated only when a real fact changes — never just to refresh a date.
Real testing, real screenshots
Deposit and withdrawal guides are based on hands-on testing with Ugandan SIM cards, with measured times and real screenshots rather than figures copied from operator websites. The first hands-on tests are publishing soon.

How BetsUganda is funded
BetsUganda currently has no paid partnerships. In future, BetsUganda may earn a commission when a reader signs up with a licensed operator, and any such link will be clearly marked. Commission never changes the facts, the 25+ guidance or the safety advice on this site.
